It's easier to under-spec than over-spec on paper — we always design with transformer and wiring capacity to add fixtures later without a rebuild, since the "right" count often becomes clearer once the first phase is installed.
Feature count is a more reliable estimate than square footage alone, since two similarly sized properties can have very different numbers of trees, paths, and architectural features.
Yes — over-lighting a property looks harsh and washes out the layered effect. Fewer, well-placed fixtures generally look better than more, evenly scattered ones.
Yes — total wattage across all fixtures determines transformer sizing, which is why we always plan the full fixture count (including future phases) before selecting one.
