Carlsbad covers more ground than most coastal North County towns, and it shows in the variety of homes we work on. Carlsbad Village's walkable grid near the train depot and the beach is full of updated bungalows and modern rebuilds on tight lots, blocks from the sand. A few miles inland, La Costa and Aviara open into golf course estates built around the La Costa Resort and the wetlands of Batiquitos Lagoon — bigger lots, longer sightlines, and a lot more infrastructure to plan for.
That range shapes how we design. Aviara homes overlooking the lagoon or a fairway get whole-property networking, home theaters, and outdoor kitchens built for entertaining at scale, with wiring planned around views of the water rather than the equipment. Closer to the coast, near the Flower Fields at Carlsbad Ranch and South Carlsbad State Beach, salt air and smaller lots call for compact, corrosion-resistant systems that fit a cottage without a hint of visible hardware.
A golf estate in Aviara and a beach cottage in Carlsbad Village need fundamentally different engineering, even if the end goal — technology you never think about — is the same. Larger La Costa and Aviara lots get the network backbone and zoned audio that come with more square footage, while Village and beachfront homes get tightly engineered, space-conscious installs that respect a smaller footprint.
